A Short Biography (approximately 200 words)

Iman Alramadan, Ph.D., is a faculty member at Georgetown University in Qatar specializing in Arabic linguistics, Arabic language pedagogy, curriculum development, and proficiency-based language instruction. She currently serves as Faculty Initiatives Co-Chair for the Georgetown Women’s Alliance Qatar, contributing to faculty engagement and community-building initiatives.

Prior to joining Georgetown, Alramadan spent more than a decade at Indiana University Bloomington, where she taught Arabic at all proficiency levels and played leadership roles in the Arabic Summer Language Workshop and Arabic Flagship Program. Her teaching emphasizes purposeful communication, experiential learning, cultural engagement, and connecting classroom learning with authentic interactions and real-world contexts. Her work also includes virtual exchange and Global Classroom initiatives, Arabic debate, teacher training, and curriculum and materials development.
