Article (7) Membership
Membership in the Union is granted to individuals, including scholars, researchers, professors, specialists, interested parties, and officials actively serving the Arabic language, whether personally or through their work in governmental and non-governmental institutions, at the local, national, and international levels. The membership certificate is issued with the approval of the Union’s General Secretariat, in accordance with the terms and conditions stipulated in the Union’s bylaws.

 

Article (8) Obtaining Membership
Those wishing to join the Union must complete the membership application form and pledge to abide by the Union’s bylaws and adhere to the membership criteria. The application must be accompanied by the required documents and paperwork as per the membership requirements. (Currently, membership is valid for three years.)

 

Article (9) Termination of Membership
Membership is terminated by a decision of the Board of Directors in cases of non-compliance with the membership criteria, violation of the Union’s bylaws and regulations, or any action that undermines the standing and reputation of the International Union for the Arabic Language.

A member may withdraw from the Union by submitting a request to the Board of Directors stating the reasons. The Board shall review the request and may take steps to address these reasons. A member whose membership has been terminated by a decision of the Board of Directors may appeal this decision to the Board within three months of being notified of the termination. The Chairman of the Board shall present the appeal to the Board for a final decision.

A member may rejoin the Union after one full year from the date of termination or withdrawal, provided they meet the membership requirements and fulfill all outstanding obligations to the Union to ensure reinstatement.
